A practical guide to connected AI lesson planning
A useful lesson-planning assistant does more than produce polished text. It should preserve why the lesson exists, what it is aligned to, which sources informed it, and what the educator changed before use.

Start with the instructional decision
Name the learning goal, adopted standard, course context, available time, and evidence learners should produce. Keep learner-specific records out of a general planning prompt; those records belong only in explicitly authorized workflows.

Require editable output with lineage
A lesson draft should remain connected to its source material, standard, plan, and revision history. Review factual accuracy, cognitive demand, accessibility, answer keys, timing, and alignment before use.

Plan the next handoff
The lesson should open cleanly in the classroom workflow, and the evidence it produces should return to the educator for review. A connected handoff makes tomorrow’s revision possible without treating one AI response as a permanent decision.
