Understand how student and family participation stays bounded

Student and family access is created and controlled by an educator or organization; ClassLattice does not ask learners to create independent teaching workspaces.

What stays connected

  • Teacher-controlled Student Spaces
  • Private learner work until an educator reviews it
  • Family communication publication controls
  • Privacy and account-recovery choices

Participation begins with an educator-controlled learning space

Learners and families do not receive an independent teaching workspace. Their experience begins with a course, activity, or record an authorized educator or organization has chosen to share, and private learner work stays private until the workflow explicitly changes that state.

  1. Join the intended course activity

A teacher creates the Student Space, chooses the standard and activity, and controls assignment, join access, timing, peer-sharing options, and whether guided help is available.

  2. Work privately with visible expectations

Learners can respond through supported activity formats while the product keeps participation state, source context, and teacher-approved guidance distinct from grades or automatic mastery claims.

  3. Move only reviewed evidence forward

An educator reviews responses before they become approved evidence, feedback, a Learning Passport entry, or a follow-up instructional action.

  4. Share a bounded family view

Families see published learning context and approved updates through their authorized role; access, recovery, and education-record visibility remain controlled by the educator or organization.
